Dermot was born and raised in Ireland. He read law at the Queen’s University of Belfast and has studied in the U.S. and China. Dermot is a Partner in Carraig Law Group LLP and his practice focuses mainly on family law, insurance defence, and general litigation. He also has experience in a variety of other areas of the law including commercial disputes, defamation, IP disputes and estate litigation.Dermot has appeared in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and the Provincial Court all over the Lower Mainland and he is an accredited Family Law Mediator. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, and he is an Access Pro Bono volunteer.
Away from work, Dermot enjoys playing the blues on guitar, running in Stanley Park, playing snooker and brushing up on his Mandarin Chinese, French and Irish.
