Deryck joined Brown Henderson Melbye in 2022 as an associate counsel. He practices primarily family law, and civil litigation with a focus in privacy and defamation. When out of court, Deryck strives to apply alternate dispute resolution techniques to bring about creative solutions for his clients’ problems.From humble origins, Deryck grew up in Boston Bar, British Columbia where he worked at his parents’ garage from a young age. After graduating high school, Deryck attended at the University of Victoria where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in British History and English Literature. Deryck remained at UVic for his Master’s Degree in History before attending Thompson Rivers University where he completed his Juris Doctorate in 2018.
In his spare time, Deryck enjoys travelling, reading, cooking, and trap shooting. In addition to being a lawyer, Deryck is a published photographer and author. He is also a proud step-father to two boys and uncle of his five nieces and nephews.
