Carm earned his law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1992 and was called to the bar in 1994. In 1994, Carm managed a well-respected general law practice, with offices in both Hamilton and Brantford. From 2000 to 2018, Carm worked for Legal Aid Ontario, first as the Supervisory Duty Counsel at the Hamilton, then as the Director of Legal Aid for the Hamilton and surrounding areas. In late 2018, Carm returned to the private practice of law, his first passion, with a renewed commitment to providing exceptional and affordable legal services to the public.
