Sarah Lowy is Corporate Legal Counsel to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She holds a B.Sc. from Dalhousie University (1999) and an LL.B. from Queen’s University (2005). She was called to the Bar in 2006. Sarah provides advice and support on all corporate/contract related legal matters to programs across CAMH - including assistance with reviewing, negotiating, and/or drafting agreements of all types (other than research related agreements). In addition, she handles all insurance and indemnity related questions and liaises with HIROC in respect of insurance coverage for CAMH agreements. Sarah works closely with CAMH’s General Counsel with respect to corporate governance, administrative by-laws and associated legislative compliance. Sarah also works closely with the Procurement Department to ensure compliance with BSP Guidelines. Prior to joining CAMH in 2012, Sarah was an associate with Miller Thomson LLP in the Business Law Group, where she practiced corporate law, providing general corporate focusing on a range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions of private and public companies, private placements, corporate reorganizations and financings.
